"i wish the water would wash me clean
but the blood on my hands is dry
i wish my soul would come back to me
but it crossed to the other side
i wish i could see the light of day
but it’s dark when i close my eyes
i wish you had taught me how to pray
because wishes aren’t working tonight"

Species: Vampire

History:
Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries Wiki

In the world of Consignment, there is a paramilitary organization called the Cosmic Demolition Crew. It did not start out this way, but by now the CDC has one purpose: destroying planets considered detritus for any reason. In essence, they are the garbagemen of the multiverse, though their job is much, much bloodier than your average waste collector. The crews who man each of the CDC's ships are people from all corners of the multiverse, many of whom had no idea what they were signing up for when they joined — the CDC has no problem blackmailing, coercing, or outright lying to people to get them to join. It's not all bad, however — in exchange for completing a mission with the CDC, the company would grant a request from each of its recruits.

- initially green team, moved to grey, then red, then back to green with a subspecialty of white
- dated tony stark starting during her second year with the cdc, been together ever since, got married five years ago
- has amassed 19 freebies during her time with the crew
- much more tribal in mindset, very sad about it
- drinks a lot to deal with being a terrible person

Personality:

Abilities:
Powers:
IMMORTALITY Vampires are immune to diseases, and also possess a healing factor that heals them from all but fatal injuries. The only things that can kill them are wooden stakes through their hearts, beheading, fire, werewolf venom, killing the Original who originated their bloodline, and ripping their hearts out of their bodies. Usually vampires are also ageless, but as one of her rewards for completing a mission with the CDC, she asked to have her aging turned back on. She will age until she reaches 30, and then be stuck there.
ENHANCED ABILITIES Vampires are far stronger and faster than humans and have heightened senses. These abilities become even stronger with time, and vampires who feed on human blood are stronger than those who feed on animal blood.
COMPULSION Vampires can control human minds and even alter or erase their memories by looking in their eyes and commanding them. As a subset of this ability, vampires can also manipulate the dreams of anyone weaker than them, even other vampires. As one of her rewards, Elena asked for the ability to compel other vampires as well. This ability is more subject to failure, but she can at least attempt it, where other vampires simply can't compel other vampires.
EMOTIONAL CONTROL Vampires can turn on and off their emotions and humanity like a switch, though after a few hundred years this ability goes away and they have to fake it. With her third mission reward, Elena asked that this ability be taken from her. She has to feel everything, whether she wants to or not.
HEALING BLOOD Vampire blood can heal people from grave injuries, but if they die while the blood is in their system they will begin transitioning into a vampire themselves.
CLARY FRAY'S BLOOD In the CDC while on downtime on Station 23, Elena drank the blood of Clary Fray, a crewmate whose blood grants vampires the ability to walk in the sun without fear of harm. Due to this, Elena can now walk in direct sunlight without wearing her spelled piece of lapis lazuli jewelry.
DELAYED BLOODLUST Elena's second mission reward was a delay of her bloodlust. She can go 72 hours without feeding and feel no ill effects, but once the third day ends she will finally feel it.

Skills:
HAND-TO-HAND Elena's friend and guardian Alaric Saltzman taught her hand-to-hand fighting and gave her endurance and strength training. She is stronger and faster than most other vampires her age as a result, though not by much, and has been shown as being able to beat a vampire a year older and therefore stronger than her in a fight. Additionally, while in the CDC, Elena got training from Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter in various hand-to-hand techniques, with a particular focus on the things Steve learned in the military. At this point, ten years after the beginning of her training, she has gotten extremely proficient at hand-to-hand combat.
GRENADES As well as hand-to-hand skills, Alaric taught Elena how to construct homemade grenades. She knows how to make them with vervain- and wolfsbane-infused water, but could reasonably fill them with a harmful liquid of any kind — or just make them blow up, if that was what's necessary.
WEAPONS TRAINING The last skill set Alaric taught Elena was proficiency with multiple weapons. She has been shown using stakes, both hand-held and spring-loaded ones attached to a cuff on her wrist, vervain darts, and is especially proficient with crossbows. While in CDC, Elena was trained in guns by Peggy Carter, eskrima knife fighting by Bucky Barnes, and swordplay by d'Artagnan of the Musketeers. While not an expert, she is at least passably decent at all these forms of combat.

❚❚❚❚❚ BASICS.

■ NAME & ID CODE: Elena Stark (née Gilbert) | NHD-A10-STK-831
■ CANON: The Vampire Diaries, end of season five episode 22 "Home", plus ten years with the CDC.
■ AGE: 29 (appears 25, due to a previous mission freebie)
■ CURRENT TEAM & STATUS: Green team, stressed, depressed, generally inebriated.
■ LANGUAGE: Fluent in English, conversational in French and Judaean, curse words and basics in Ravkan and whatever other various foreign languages appear in her crew.
■ INVENTORY: Here.
❚❚❚❚❚ IC.
■ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Elena is affectionate still, though more sparingly than she was when she showed up with the CDC. She initiates and accepts platonic affection easily, but will firmly rebuff any romantic overtures. She's taken, thank you.

■ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Bring it on. Elena's faster, stronger, and more durable than your average human, and she isn't afraid to use that to her advantage if need be. She also has her Juggernaut armor, which makes her even more difficult to injure than usual.

■ RELATIONSHIPS: Romantically, Elena is unavailable. She is married to Tony Stark, and is extremely monogamous. However, she is a fierce and loyal friend, and can get attached to people easily, if she feels they need a friend or they need protection of some kind. She's extremely empathetic and is willing to overlook past misdeeds so long as one is repentant now.

■ MENTAL INFORMATION: As far as telepathy goes, vampires cannot be mind-controlled except by the original vampire family and the first immortal, so unless a telepath is extremely powerful, they're not getting into her head. If the telepath is, say, Charles Xavier, however, they might be able to glean some information from her. Generally Elena has a lot of angst over her conduct in the CDC, though other than that her thoughts are generally in line with whatever she's expressing at the time — she's not a habitual liar.

■ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Elena's a vampire. She requires blood to live, though it can be human or animal. Human blood tastes better, goes down easier, and keeps vampires stronger than animal blood, and it's what Elena herself prefers. She is vertebrate, and needs air to live, to a certain extent — she can hold her breath longer than a human, but can still die of lack of air. She will return to life an indeterminate amount of time later, however. Hunger is one sensation vampires feel acutely — they are nearly always some level of hungry, though if they're drinking human blood the cravings are held at bay for a longer period of time. Elena herself is generally operating on low to moderate levels of hunger, and is good at keeping herself under control.

■ FAVORITE SENSORY INPUT: Touch.

■ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Large bodies of water/drowning and cars are her two biggest triggers — she drowned twice and has been in multiple car accidents. She can mostly keep it together regarding both, but has been shown to be nervous about cars. Additionally, friends dying or being otherwise lost to her is a source of considerable stress in Elena's life. She was once set on fire, and has been kidnapped over six times.

■ BACKTAGGING: I will backtag into forever.
■ THREADHOPPING: Generally yes, but ask me if the thread is particularly emotional.
■ FOURTHWALLING: No thank you.
■ ACTION VS PROSE: Action!
■ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Animal cruelty/torture, exceptionally graphic depictions of gore. I can handle general descriptions, but get too specific and I start getting queasy.
■ YES/NO SCENARIOS:
YES: human torture of any kind, be it mental, physical, or emotional (so long as it's discussed beforehand and the torture sticks to what was previously agreed upon), hallucinations, injuries from weaponry/ballistics, injuries from hand-to-hand, emotional manipulation, physical scarring, starvation/dehydration, drug use/abuse, impalement, temporary severe injuries to my characters, permanent severe injuries to others, temporarily losing sensory perception, killing on behalf of others, blackmail (including blackmailing others into doing terrible things/threatening loved ones to get the job done), sexual situations, anything else not outlined under nos.

NO: Animal cruelty/torture, torture of children, excessive gore, loss of limbs, permanent character death, cannibalism, severe mental breaks.

MAYBE: Sexual violence — extremely dependent on situation and prior discussion.

BACKGROUND:
Elena Gilbert was a college student in Virginia before joining the Neheda crew after the death of her boyfriend and best friend. She had trouble fulfilling the terms of her contract initially, turning off her empathy in her second year (SOL) with the crew, but has by her tenth year acquitted herself as a valuable member of the CDC. After a move to Grey team and subsequently turning off her humanity, she was moved to Red team, and after regaining her humanity was moved nine months later back to Green, where she has remained since. In her fifth year with the CDC, she married crew member Anthony Stark, and, according to the custom of their home worlds, took his last name. Never a unit lead, she has nonetheless proven herself to be a both deadly and efficient recruit.

CHARACTER ASSESSMENT:
Elena began her contract as an empathetic, kind, compassionate young woman. In the years since her introduction to the Neheda, she has not lost those traits so much as shrank them to apply only to her crew, with the rest of the universe a secondary thought. Though she still wants to save as many lives as possible, she has accepted her place within the CDC, and will carry out orders as instructed. As with most who have been assigned to the Neheda for a long period of time, she is more attached to her crew than the organization itself, with particularly strong attachments to close friends d'Artagnan (NHD-A10-DRT-230) and Jonathan Benjamin (NHD-A10-BNJ-131), and husband Anthony Stark (NHD-A10-STK-001). Still given to bouts of depression and suicidal ideation, she has developed a dependence on alcohol to ease her conscience.
